BiciSport Griffith @ 31 July - Peter Budd has a delighfully appointed service corse/manshed/garage with all manner of personal memorabilia that includes clothing, medals, race numbers, trophies, posters, then a classy bike wall of Fuji, Specialised, Ciocc, Giant, Morgan x 3, a GT, finally a Cannondale and a very nice tandem.
BiciSport Griffith @ 1 Aug - Saturday ride completed in pretty chilly conditions, then a quick coffee at the Budd Service Corse.

MCCARRS CREEK ROAD SPEED BUMPS ALERT
Beware the 19 new speed bumps between Church Point and the National Park. You have to be left shaking your head in utter disbelief that anybody could consider this move as a meaningful solution to any traffic calming problems. Discussions will continue this week with relevant authorities regarding a considered solution.

EASTERN CREEK RACEWAY RECOMMENCES ON 9 AUGUST
Waratah Masters relaunch club level events at Eastern Creek Raceway on Sunday 9 August. Start time is a brisk 7.00am and all BiciSport Masters are encouraged to make it a date. BiciSport entries can be made on the day and a BiciSport support team will be in attendance on 9 August.
RACE KEEPER VERSUS RACE SEEKER VERSUS RACE EXECUTIONER
The smaller club events have quietly restarted (at Heffron Park, Southern Highlands, Lansdowne Park, Eastern Creek, Penrith, Parramatta & West Head) but the larger promotions and cyclosportives remain in the Covid hurt box. It would be fair to say that mass participation events (with more than 500 starters) have a real problem at present. Covid 19 is most certainly sitting over our shoulder, and you get the sense that apprehension and serious concern is well and truly still with us.

COVID 19 & NORTHSIDE TRAFFIC HOTSPOTS - TRAFFIC VOLUMES UP 20%
Caution still needs to be exercised on traditional cycling roads like Pittwater Rd (through Dee Why to Mona Vale) and McCarrs Creek Rd towards Church Point, then into Akuna Bay & West Head. Traffic volumes are much higher than normal

Please note the the entire stretch of the Manly-Queenscliff beachfront road is now limited to 30 kph

Kwantum Hallen-Decosol @ 1984 # 2 - Adrie Van De Poel (above) was just one of numerous outstanding cyclists to pass through this team since 1984, be it under sponsorship from Kwantum, Superconfex, Buckler, Word Perfect, Novell, Rabobank, Belkin, Lotto NL or Jumbo Visma.
The team originally formed after a split from TI Raleigh in late 1983 … half the team then went to the Panasonic Team (led by Peter Post) and the other half formed under Jan Raas at Kwantum. Peter Post & Jan Raas most definitely did not get on and the rivalry was bitter as it was fierce.
Framesets were Colnago, then Giant then finally Bianchi.
Kwantum Hallen-Decosol @ 1984 # 1 - Joop Zoetmelk & Hennie Kuiper … both won a World Road Championship, plus numerous Classics not to mention a Tour de France win by Joop.
