Heffron Park Criteriums @ 30 Mar - Rolly Delaytz (left, BiciSport Happy Wheels) took a fine 3rd in B grade at the final round of the Heffron Park Summer Series. Great racing all summer with the usual slick organisation by the Eastern Suburbs Cycling Club.

Eric Mather Cup @ Eastern Creek Raceway @ 5 Apr - Huge numbers celebrated the Eric Mather Cup at ECR and all grades were full. Randolph Baral featured all day, with supporting rides by Davide Browne, David Cooper & Ian Grainger.
SINGELTON MAIL RUN CYCLOSPORTIVE ON 11 APRIL
The Mail Run on 11 April is a long running cyclosportive in the Hunter Valley based out of Singleton on roads used in the NSW Teams Time Trial Championships around Glendon. A great weekend is guaranteed.

Cilo Aufina Professional Cycling Team (Switzerland) - 1940-58, then 1977-86
Cilo had two teams over the years with the first from 1940-58, then 1977 to 1986. Sponsorship was primarily Cilo (bicycles), Aufina (banking) with secondary sponsors in Shimano, Piz Buin (skin sun screen), Crans Montana (swiss holiday resort), Weinmann (cycle components) and Magniflex (Italian mattresses).
Don’t be disappointed if you didn’t realize the team even existed as their team results were few & far between notwithstanding that Cilo #2 went for some 9 years. Victories were left to Beat Beau (won two Tour de France stages and a noted mountain climber) but meaningful results pretty much ended there, with supporting victories from Gilbert Claus. Other notable team riders were Serge Demierre, Jean Marie Grezet, Urs Zimmermann & Erich Meachler …. a pretty classy line up but possibly past their prime and the exit door from the sport beckoned.
