TopSport Vlaanderen Professional Cycling Team (Belgium) - 1994 until now
If any team typifies the heart & soul of Flemish (Belgian) cycling then this is it. Riders are all Flemish, sponsors are primarily the local Flemish Government sports council coupled with Baloise (insurance). Framesets are Eddy Merckx (naturally) on Campagnolo groupsets. All that is missing is Duvel beer and frites & mayo.
Living on the edge of the World Tour has victories in maybe short supply, but maybe it was more of a launching pad for numerous riders who went forward to absolute stellar careers. Past riders included Nico Eeckhout (won numerous one day events including 2006 Belgian National Road Champion), Preben van Hecke (2015 Belgian National Road Champion), Kenny De Ketele (pictured above & World Track Pointscore Champion) and other serious team contributors in Tom Steels, Mario Aerts, Erwin Thijs, Jelle Wallays & Tim DeClerq (now at the very hardcore of Team QuickStep).
