Fagor Professional Cycling Team from 1966-69 then 1985-1989. Fagor manufactures high quality kitchen appliances, with secondary sponsors in Mercier (bikes), MBK (bikes), Hutchinson (tyres), Fargas (?) and Bose (stereo equipment).

The early Fagor team (1966-69) was Spanish registered and was loaded with Spanish locals including Luis Ocana (pictured above - Luis won the 1973 Tour de France). The second Fagor team (1985-89) was French registered and had a much more Anglo feel with several English speaking notables.

The team won stages at both Giro & Tour. These Anglo imports into Fagor were a hugely talented peloton and included Sean Yates (the ultimate hard man), Stephen Roche (World, Giro & Tour winner), Robert Millar, Malcolm Elliott (won a stage in the 1988 Herald Sun Tour in Australia), Paul Kimmage, Pedro Munoz & Eddy Schepers. Fagor “Mark 2” only lasted 5 years (from 1985-89) and deserved a longer life.
