VALE CON TOPARIS
When you think of the Goulburn cycling community it doesn’t take long before the conversation turns to the Greengrocer Cafe and Con Toparis. Con was the linchpin of the local cycling community & fiercely passionate about just about everything he did … be it the cycling community, good coffee, high quality food and the love of go-karting. Sadly Con was killed on 18 February whilst cycling on the Goulburn-Crookwell Rd in a collision with a motorbike. RIP dear Con as you were much admired
Con’s funeral will be held in Goulburn on 17 March @ 2pm. Details will be posted on the Goulburn CC Facebook page in due course

Linda McCartney Foods Pro Team (UK) - 1998-2001
A team based on vegetarianism & Linda McCartney Foods. The team moved from the domestic UK scene onto the UCI World Cup and selected Grand Tours (being the Tour of Italy - where David McKenzie won a stage). Sadly, the team itself had a shelf life less than the foods it was promoting, and eventually the team disbanded due to cost over runs and unpaid wages and less than satisfactory team management.
The team itself was an interesting mix of super talent … be it the Swiss one day Classic specialist in Pascal Richard and Max Sciandri, to the likes of Brad Wiggins, Charly Wegelius (ex Mapei), Chris Lillywhite and the great Aussie trio of David Mckenzie, Allan Iacone and Ben Brooks.
A non event as much as it was a low point in sports governance
