BiciSport - CycNSW derny restoration project @ 14 Sept - John Crouchley (BiciSport) and Sam Layzell (CycNSW) with the restored derny going back to the DGV. John put in endless hours on the restoration project that involved seven dernys (one was a write-off and could not be saved). Thanks John for the commitment to cycling history.
Bordeaux Paris Classic - A single derny & driver leads each team rider (right, Herman Van Springel). The “broader” the derny driver the better the slipstream. A great way to train & an even a better way to race. The traditional derny colour is red.
BICISPORT SINGLETON RECCE on 18 SEPT & TEAM TIME TRIAL TRAINING on 20 SEPT
A small BiciSport peloton is going to Singleton on Friday 18 September to review the revised Masters Championships ITT circuit just 10k out of Singleton.

BiciSport Team Time Trial training is set for Sunday 20 September at Miramare Gardens (Sandstone Cafe) at Terrey Hills. Entry to the Miramare Gardens carpark is off Myoora Road Terrey Hills. Meeting time is 7.30am and departure for Booralie Rd loop (x3) is 8.00am.

Friday Night Track Racing @ DGV @ 11 Sept - Series # 3 and Davide van der Browne was 2nd in the Keirin, 5th in the Elimination, 3rd in the Points Race. .
West Head @ 13 Sept - BiciSport starters in Matt Coy, Randolph Baral, Gio Pilu, Len Groen & Tom Green. Tom Green was 12th overall (first in Age category).
Eastern Creek @ 13 Sept - Cracker entries in every grade and the usual slick organisation by Waratah Masters made for a great day of Masters racing at ECR. Rolly Delaytz & Eric Dole both went top 10 in their respective grades and Eddy Ahumada the big improver in C grade.
NSW MASTERS ROAD CHAMPIONSHIPS FOR SINGLETON & GO FOR BROKE
For 2020 the NSW Masters Road Championships head for Singleton with the Individual Time Trial on the Friday, the Road Races on the Saturday (around the well known Team Time Trial course) and Criteriums on a new circuit at Broke (near Pokolbin).
The revised date is 9-11 October in Singleton

RACE KEEPER OR RACE SEEKER OR RACE EXECUTIONER
The relatively smaller club events have restarted (at Heffron Park, Southern Highlands, Lansdowne Park, Eastern Creek, Penrith, Parramatta & West Head) but the larger promotions and cyclosportives remain in the Covid hurt box. It would be fair to say that mass participation events (with more than 500 starters) have an ongoing problem at present.

Ijsboerke # 1 - The Ijsboerke manager was none other than Patrick Lefevere (of Mapei & Quick Step fame). The team ran from 1973-82. Sponsorship was Ijsboerke (ice cream manufacturer), Capri Sonne (drinks), Warncke (communications). Bike sponsors were varied with Bertin (1973-74), Colner (75), Colnago (76-77), Gios (78), Koga Miyata (80-81), Merckx (82). Campagnolo did the components. Originally there was a large 31 riders in the team but this drifted down to a more manageable 21 riders in latter years.

Ijsboerke # 4 - Nobody looks particularly happy to be there but an all time Belgian classic line up on the start line with L to R … DAF rider (unknown), Daniel Willems (Ijsboerke), Gerry Ver Linden (Ijsboerke - Belge National Champ), Roger De Vlaeminck (Gis Gelati), Walter Godefroot (Ijsboerke), Fons De Wolf (Lano), Herman Van Springel (Marc Superia), Claude Criqueilon (KAS) & Marc De Meyer (Flanders).
Ijsboerke # 5 - If there was ever a Seventies “super team” then this it and it laid the groundwork for what followed at then Mapei and onto the now of Quick Step thanks to managers Willy Jossart & Patrick Lefevere (now the king of team Quick Step).
The list of talent was seemingly unlimited in Gregor Braun, Ronald De Witte, Rudi Pevenge (of Jan Ulrich manager fame), Paul Haghedooren, Peter Winnen, Fons De Wolf, Frank Hoste, Bert Pronk, Gery Verlinden, Daniel Willems, Andre Dierckx, Roger Swerts, Herman Van Springel, Graeme Gilmore (Aussie), Frans Verbeek, Didi Thurau, and the late Dirk Wayenberg (pictured above). That is one serious bunch of talent.
